Strawberry Doughnuts with Chocolate Frosting

For the Doughnuts:
5 Tbsp. Butter
1/2 C. Sugar
1 Egg, Beaten
1 1/2 C. Flour
1 1/4 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1/4 C. Dried Strawberry Powder (Found at an Organic shop that sells spices in bulk)
1/2 C. Milk

1/2 C. Sugar
1/2 Tbsp. Ginger

Mix butter and sugar thoroughly. Add egg and mix well. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and strawberry powder. Add dry ingredients alternatively with milk  to butter mixture.
These were then placed in a doughnut maker, which cooks them without oil. For those of you who choose to fry these, heat a large pot of vegetable oil on medium heat on the stove. Make sure to test the oil before putting the doughnuts in by putting a small amount of batter in first. If it does not brown quickly, it was not hot enough and if the oil smokes and burns the dough, it was too hot.
Once the oil is at the correct temperature, form dough in to apprx. 2 inch balls and place in hot oil until golden brown on every side.
When finished cooking, place in mixture of sugar and ginger and then dip half in chocolate frosting.

For the Chocolate Frosting:
2 3/4 C. Confectioners Sugar
6 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder
6 Tbsp. Butter, melted
1/2 C. Evaporated Milk
1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract

In small bowl, mix sugar and cocoa powder. Take another medium sized bowl and add butter, evaporated milk and vanilla extract. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add more milk if needed.
