30 Minute Garlic Knots
for the garlic knots:
1/4 c butter
1 c milk (I use plant based)
1 tbsp instant yeast
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp salt
1 large egg
3- 3 1/2 c all purpose flour
for the garlic butter:
2 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside. In a small saucepan, melt the butter. When the butter has melted, stir in the milk and heat to 100 degrees. Meanwhile, add yeast and honey to a bowl. When milk mixture is at the correct temperature, add to the yeast and honey, stirring to combine. Add salt and egg, stir again to combine. Mix in 2 1/2 cups of flour. Continue adding flour until the dough clears the sides of the bowl. Knead for 3 minutes. Roll dough into 12 cylinders and shape into knots. Place on baking sheet. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
Bake for about 9-12 minutes, until golden brown.
While baking, prepare the garlic butter. In a small bowl combine all ingredients except the cheese.
After removing the rolls from the oven, brush generously with garlic butter. Sprinkle with cheese.
